It’ s almost sunrise when the factory on the corner starts to spit the fog
Filling the air with sadness, sleepy Jack drags himself to the mirror
His dirty hands are swollen and the bruises on his face remind him About last night
It’ s never been easy living in the city boundary
Bearing the horror of Goondocks (It’ s never been easy)

So the day begins with the usual gestures
Followed by constant repetition
First alcohol, needed and hated friend
It slows down the pace but makes all much easier
Then fags, coat, hat.

The shadow is imposing and the gaze can’ t stand the street
It hides big secrets, dust and gloom
Can’ t think about it, no delay
The dock is waiting

Jack doesn’ t like what’ s happening
But He knew it must be done
The movement is fast and forceful the knife
Plunges silently in the dark of dock 4.
Another one disappearing…
Into the sea, no ceremony, no wake, no goodbye

Just Jack and the cold mud completing his job in the deep sea
Alcohol and fags…
He’d like disappear too, wishing things…
Had never started

But it’ s never been easy living in the city boundary.
